Joetta Scarborough

My pottery began in the 1990s when I took my first art class-an elective ceramics class. I fell in love with mud. In 1999 my family and I moved to Hitchcock on the Diversionary canal. I fell in love with water-birds (all kinds-migratory etc), fish and flowers (not hurricanes). I enjoy reflecting on my life here, living among nature's friends. This inspires my pottery. Being Texan born, I also like to make the Texas flag, armadillos, horned toads, blue bonnets, well anything Texan. God blessed Texas.

My Christian faith is very important too me as well and it is also reflected in my pottery.
